William Aikenhead found guilty on an indictment for a burglary in the dwelling house of Ann Davis and Anna Maria Davis in the parish of South Weald on 6^th August 1798: stealing therefrom 160 yards of white thread linen (value at £16), 748 yards of thread edging (value at £24), 417 yards of black silk lace (valued at £40),61 cotton shirts (valued at £9), 28 silk handkerchiefs (valued at £8), 240 yards of black silk ribbon (valued at £6), 6 half cotton shawls (valued at 9/-), 9 pieces of Irish linen cloth measuring 178 yards (valued at £14), 58 remnants of muslin measuring 578 yards (valued at £50), 6 yards of linen wrapper (valued at 6/-), 15 remnants of linen measuring 220 yards (valued at £16), 2 pieces of muslin measuring 20 yards (value at £3.10/-) and 2 muslin aprons (valued at £1.14/-).
